Five organizations collaborating together in our first ever Yamaha Cares UpCycled Guitar Exhibit. This exhibition features primarily upcycled guitars with a few other instruments in the mix. Each instrument is reinvented into a new art form—while at the same time, keeping the instruments out of a landfill. Yamaha Cares is, “an employee based initiative dedicated to charitable works to promote education, arts, health and human services, and community development in the areas where its employees live and work as well as to spread the gift of music to people throughout the U.S.” We cannot thank Yamaha enough for not only donating the instruments to all of our artists but their tremendous support in putting together this exhibition. Other not-for-profit organizations joining us in the this exciting adventure are Anaheim Elementary School District, Boy & Girls Club of Buena Park and KatrinaKures/CHOC. This project has provided a space for families to come together in a creative way and allowed parents to engage in student learning. Additionally, this upcycled project promotes and empowers marginalized artists. The sale of all guitars will help support each organizations goals, raise funds for art and music programs and help Able ARTS Work on our journey to purchase A Home of Our Own--while simultaneously carrying on the love and support of music.
