ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

CORE: Defining Ourselves is a long-standing tradition of Able ARTS Work.

This year is the 17th anniversary of CORE, after its original opening in 2005. This annual juried exhibition has grown and evolved through the years to include artists of all abilities, exhibitions at venues across the Los Angeles area, and ADA components to create a fully accessible, and inclusive showcase of the arts.

Inclusion, Representation, and Accessibility.

CORE: 2022 celebrates Able ARTS Work's 40 years of achievements by inviting community artists to submit their original artwork alongside our resident artists. This year, the exhibit features over 30 artists and pieces of various subject matter that created an explosion of color and diversity. Through this show, Able ARTS Work aims to create opportunities for all. ADA components for this year’s show feature ASL translation for the opening, and audio descriptions for the visually impaired. CORE's goal is for artists and the public to feel that this space includes and celebrates the abilities of all.
